Coming Soon

The second volume of my Forbidden Knowledge series is almost finished and I'm about to start final editing and layout checks.

My illustrator, the talented India Hannen, is currently working on the final illustrations and cover for the second Princess Sapphire book.

So, with a bit of luck and a fair wind, both books should be out in the next few months.

I'm also working (albeit slowly ...) on a second collection of short stories. This time round they'll be a little longer, so there'll be fewer of them than in the first book ('A Brief Tour Around My Head'). I don't expect to complete this collection until the end of the year. But for now, here's a taster from 'Purgatory' ...

'Time drags when you're dead. Or at least it always seems that way. I think it may be something to do with the notion that your soul is meant to contemplate and reflect on its last outing. That way, so the believers claim, you are encouraged to try harder in your next incarnation. 'Let's all strive to be nicer' was one of those daft slogans I saw flash before my eyes just before my last failure.

Of course, there are no slogans right now. In fact, there's no anything; just total darkness and silence, stretching forever and in every direction. Not much point in moving then. For all I know, there could be nothing at all out there. On the other hand, since I will eventually be reborn, there must be something. Somewhere. At some time.'
