The following extract is the (draft) openingparagraph of Doll's House, one of the stories in my next anthology. 'The dolls are forcing me to work with them. They are absolute masters of my feeble will. I'd do anything to turn back the clock but I think I'm trapped in this nightmare forever. If, by some miracle, you can hear me, then for God's sake pay attention. Learn from my mistake or you could be their next victim. They're ruthless and cold-hearted. Don't be fooled by their smiles and painted lips or their pretty clothes and long eye-lashes. They're pure evil. Trust me.' The opening sentence is based on a snippet of overheard conversation ...
